About me
Hi, my name is Kendra Schiley, and I am a 2027 graduate, sophomore, at Tumwater highschool. Softball has been a major part of my life for about 10 years, and I can't imagine my life without it. I currently play short-stop and outfield for Washington Acers 16u Olmstead, where I am always working to improve my skills, support my teammates, and compete at the highest level. For highschool I am on JV as their lead-off batter and starting shortstop. Whether I’m at practice, in the gym, or playing in a big game, I bring passion, dedication, and a strong work ethic to everything I do. I have just recently moved to Washington from Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, where as a freshman I played on varsity as their starting right-fielder and lead-off batter; I ended up lettering my freshman year of highschool. A goal I have had for the longest time is possibly playing in the olympics at some point as well as, when I can no longer play, coaching a softball team of my own to show them why and how much this game has changed me. I would love to be able to show and help evolve the new generation of young ladies who want to play softball. Beyond softball, I enjoy volleyball, snowboarding, hikes, and swimming, which help me stay balanced and push me to grow in different ways. Whether it’s going down a hill on my snowboard or spending time with friends and family, I always try to bring the same energy and focus that I do on the field. Academics are also very important to me, as of right now I am in 2 college level classes, Culinary and AP World HIstory, and I plan to continue my education while playing softball at the collegiate level. I am interested in studying Aerospace Engineering, as well as possibly minoring in Meteorology and possibly Marine Biology, as I have always been passionate about science as a whole and I have always had the dream of going to space and exploring, studying the path of winds and weather, and diving deep underwater to discover things that haven't been discovered before. My goal is to find a school where I can thrive both athletically and academically, surrounded by teammates and coaches who push me to be my best.
