Hi! I’m Mikayla Schurer, #26. I live in North Vancouver, B.C. Canada. I will be a 2027 graduate from Seycove Secondary School. I have been playing softball since I was 7, and it has taught me many valuable skills such as discipline, leadership, communication, and confidence. I have also gained many friendships that bring me so much joy. Getting to play the sport I love with people I cherish is very important to me.

I currently play softball for the Tricity Titans U17A based in Port Coquitlam, B.C. I am looking forward to playing with Elevate PNW U16-Emme at the Colorado Sparkler in July of 2025.

On the Field-

I love to pitch! I throw an average of 58 mph with a fastball, changeup, drop ball, and rise ball. When I am not pitching, I also enjoy playing outfield or third base.

 

Academics and Volunteering-

I’m a dedicated student at Seycove Secondary. I maintain a 3.8-4.0 GPA. I’ve always been very interested in sciences and hope to study them in my post-secondary career. Giving back to my community is also important to me. I volunteer for my pitching coach to help younger kids learn and improve how to pitch. I also volunteer for my school in the Student Council.

Off the Field-

 ​In my free time, I enjoy playing other sports like basketball and volleyball. On the off day when I have no sports, I enjoy hanging out with friends, baking, or going outside with my dog. Learning to balance softball and my social life has given me skills that I will carry with me into adulthood such as time-management, responsibility, and perseverance.
